Where EventDock is genuinely better
Provider integrations. They ship signature verification for a published list of named providers, on every plan including the free one. ShellOrbit puts signature verification on the $99 plan and does not maintain a per provider catalogue. If you want Stripe or Square verified out of the box without reading a signing document, that is a real advantage.
Flat billing. No overage line at all. A variable line on an invoice is a thing engineers have to explain to finance, and not having one is worth something.

Where ShellOrbit is genuinely better
Price, at every tier. Their first paid plan is $149 for 50,000 events a month. Ours is $15 for 75,000. Their top self serve plan is $499 for 250,000 events. Ours is $99 for 750,000. There is no volume in the published range where EventDock is the cheaper option.
Commitments we published. A 99.9 percent monthly uptime target written into the terms of service on the top plan, and a status page that runs live checks against the ingest endpoint, the API and the dashboard, with incident history kept on it. Neither of those is published on their side.
A note on their published prices
EventDock’s per provider landing pages quote different prices from their pricing page, in one case $29 a month for the same 50,000 events that the pricing page lists at $149. This table uses the figures from the pricing page. If you are evaluating them, ask which number you would actually be charged.
